She set aside her work to help de Kooning establish his career.  Though differences surfaced later, she came back later to help her estranged husband in his time of need.  In respect, de Kooning's [aintings influenced other painters, such as Jackson Pollock's black-on-white heads of 1951 (think de Kooning's &lt;i&gt;Women&lt;/i&gt;). I understand the deeper depth of this man.  His paintings are not something to stare at because it is beautiful or interesting, but provide a road to his personality.  In researching his &lt;i&gt;Women&lt;/i&gt; series paintings, I begin to see his influence from Picasso and the strengths and weaknesses of his character.  &lt;i&gt;Willem&lt;/i&gt; &lt;i&gt;de Kooning&lt;/i&gt; biography by Thomas B. The library has other resources for obtaining information regarding my research topics, such as its online research and archives. Some of the sites provided de Kooning's paintings which were useful in seeing his works and understanding his visions.
